On 14 November, presidents Biden and Xi met at the G20 meeting in Bali. The US and China, who are the world´s two biggest polluters, announced a restart of talks on climate issues, which had been frozen since the visit of Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan in August. Resuming the cooperation is critical: in the past, for instance, it made the 2015 Paris Agreement possible.

Such cooperation will be essential to encourage research and observation. also to make possible discussions about topics like “solar geoengineering” – increasing the Earth´s ability to deflect sunlight in the case that attempts to control carbon levels fail.[2] Last but not least, the announcement gave strong encouragement to the ongoing COP27.
